Removed cross-service dependencies on discovery · 2eddf55b

The dependency on the discovery service by credentials and ecommerce is not necessary. Having this dependency unnecessarily brings up the discovery and elasticsearch services when we want to run a single service.

Using Django runserver to serve applications · c1f1dfdb

Our initial desire to make development look like production by using nginx and supervisor is conflicting with our goal of easing local development pains. Specifically, front-end development requires re-compiling/collecting static assets with every change. Using Django to serve the applications alleviates this pain and allows developers to maintain their current workflows.

The merging of these two steps causes confusion when the prereq installation fails, preventing migrations from being run, yet the provisioning process continues. Splitting them out will ensure that users are aware when provisioning fails.

Excluding static asset directories from volume sharing · 3fe7d59d

Static assets are installed/compiled when the images are built. Sharing
these files from the host usually results in assets needing to be
recompiled unnecessarily. Excluding them eliminates confusion around
this process and ensures only the source code is shared.
